Real Estate Market Strengthening, but Breaking Through the Clutter Is a Challenge
ROANOKE, VA–(Marketwire – Jul 5, 2011) – While national real estate indicators continue to bounce up and down, real estate broker and auctioneer Jim Woltz believes the mid-Atlantic area may be recovering more quickly than many regions. “The Case-Shiller index of homes in 20 cities showed a nice 8.2 percent increase in pending home sales for May, but that only reflects home sales in select …

ACORN breaks into foreclosed homes – criminal trespassing.
Jun 20th
The community group (I use this term loosely) ACORN, breaks into foreclosed homes, moving the previous owners back in. This is criminal trespassing. This story was reported by WJZ TV in Baltimore. The home in this video had already been sold by the bank and had new owners. My question is, why doesn’t ACORN use the money that Barack Obama has given them, to repurchase the homes and give them back to the previous owners?

Q&A: Commercial Real Estate Career information.?

Question by ilovequestions1234: Commercial Real Estate Career information.?
Can anyone give me information about how to get started as a commercial real estate sales person? How to break into the field? Is it difficult as it’s commission based? Do I need to start off in residential? What is a typical commission split? Average earnnings? Earnning potential?

Your first step is to take your state’s required prelicensing course, then pass the licensing exam (there will be a fee to take the exam). After that, you can “shop around” to find the best fit. Some brokers will require you to become a buyer’s agent in residential (you get to shlep all the buyers from house to house and try to sell them one), others will let you be residential (for buyers, or sellers, or both), and still others will let you focus on a specific area (such as commercial) though most want you to work with an experienced agent first. There are also brokers who only deal with residential and some who deal with only commercial, so you may be able to get your foot in the door this way. Another suggestion is to find a job as an assistant, which would help you gain some knowledge not only to get your license but also to break into commercial.
Commission split will vary from broker to broker; and sometimes even from transaction to transaction. Best to talk to some licensed agents in your area for more info. Average earnings will vary from state to state, depending on your area’s average real estate values and how the market is currently, and a local agent can help you here too. Earning potential is limited only by your ability; if you’re good and knowledgeable, and you maintain a good work ethic, you can earn just about whatever you want (but again, the market may be a factor in this as well).
