Question by Obama Hood – Spread the Wealth: Will General Electric subsidaries NBC, CNBC, and MSNBC ever report anything negative about Obama?
General Electric Corporation owns a wide variety of businesses. The company produces — take a deep breath — aircraft engines, locomotives and other transportation equipment, kitchen and laundry appliances, lighting, electric distribution and control equipment, generators and turbines, and medical imaging equipment. GE is also one of the preeminent financial services companies in the US. General Electric Capital, comprising commercial finance, consumer finance, aircraft leasing, real estate, and energy financial services, is its largest segment. Other operations include the NBC television network.
One of General Electric’s largest divisions, GE Energy serves utility, industrial, and governmental customers worldwide, supplying products such as compressors, wind turbines, generators, and nuclear reactors. It also provides equipment that supports oil and gas distribution, and services ranging from consulting and field engineering to environmental monitoring and product lifecycle management.
The General Electric CEO is openly a Obama supporter and he wants cap and trade to pass. Why? Not because it is good for the environment, but it is good for General Electric’s bottom line.
So will these networks ever report anything controversial about Obama?

Q&A: Question about opening Real Estate business or franchise RE/MAX?
May 27th
Question by don: Question about opening Real Estate business or franchise RE/MAX?
I just got some ideas running through my head and I am not too familiar with how the real estate business works.
If I franchise RE/MAX in this area and there are other RE/MAX’s I would assume we would be in competition but how would their online customers be pointed to one of the RE/MAX’s here? Who is to get the customer?
Also I just want to get this straight…how would you buy property if I owned a RE/MAX? With my own capital? So I would have to buy my own houses and plots of land and sell them? I am confused with this whole notion.
Also do you think it would just be a better idea to start my own?

First: take a basic course in real estate. Contact board in your state. Often courses are offered on line.
Then you will learn that a real estate company/franchise, office must employ or have as an owner, a licensed real estate broker.
Only after that can you apply for a franchise.

What is signing a contract with a realtor about?
May 15th
Question by kinduvabrat: What is signing a contract with a realtor about?
I am looking to buy a home (my first). My sister just said something about “signing a contract with the realtor” however the realtor I’ve been in communication with hasn’t brought that up. Does one always sign a contract with a realtor? What does it cover? For whose benefit is this, mine or the realtor’s? Is this common practice?
I’d like to get some background information on it before discussing it with my realtor, if I can ascertain that this is a valid, common practice,
Why would he not have mentioned this contract to me before?
Best answer:
Answer by Wango138
As a buyer, you may not even be asked to sign a contract, as you will not be the person paying the realtor in the first place. I can see no reason to sign an agreement with a buyers agent, unless you are demanding some specific performance (like getting them to waive their commission for a flat fee or something similar like that).
