I would go to a commercial real estate agency. They will be able to help you. Commercial real estate is not a do it yourself thing, especially if you’re not familiar with business areas of San Francisco. Good Luck!

Question by Derek C: Where can I find and how do I contact hedge funds and buyers of large real estate portfolios?
I have been asked to help find a buyer for a large portfolio of commercial real estate in the southeastern states valued at over 100 million dollars.
This is the first time that I have endeavored to do this, I am told that hedge funds purchase investment properties regularly.
Where can I locate and what is the proper way to contact hedge funds and other purchasers of large portfolio’s of property?

Q&A: How do you find clients to rent commercial property?
Jul 22nd
Question by Cristi: How do you find clients to rent commercial property?
A friend of mine recently closed his chain of 3 stores in Resita, Romania. He asked me to help him find someone to rent his commercial property. I posted the stores on many real estate sites, but I would also like to contact some companies directly to ask them if they are interessted. My question is how would you contact a company to tell them you are renting commercial property, I mean what do you say to them so that you sound serious enough?

servus Cristi,
numai bine!

Commercial Real Estate involves the brokering of the sale and leasing of commercial properties – like businesses and office buildings.
Most commercial Realtors are paid on comission, some that do commercial property management (say, for a shopping center) make a small salary, plus comissions.
Your best bet is to get into residential real estate before ever attempting commercial. Commercial Realtors are what most refer to as a “good old boys club” and are usually resistant to new agents. There is so much more liability involved for a Realtor dealing in commercial properties that you really need a good handle on real estate laws, etc before you begin your foray into commercial.
Good luck!
